Which side of the fence?

This isn't motorcycle related but I just had to post it...

Which side of the fence?

If you ever wondered which side of the fence you sit on, this is a great test!

If a Republican doesn't like motorcycles he will ride in silence.
If a Democrat doesn't like motorcycles he will try to have them banned.

If a Republican doesn't like guns, he doesn’t buy one.
If a Democrat doesn't like guns, he wants all guns outlawed.

If a Republican is a vegetarian, he doesn’t eat meat.
If a Democrat is a vegetarian, he wants all meat products banned for everyone.

If a Republican is homosexual, he quietly leads his life.
If a Democrat is homosexual, he demands legislated respect.

If a Republican is down-and-out, he thinks about how to better his situation.
A Democrat wonders who is going to take care of him.

If a Republican doesn't like a talk show host, he switches channels.
Democrats demand that those they don't like be shut down.

If a Republican is a non-believer, he doesn't go to church.
A Democrat non-believer wants any mention of God and religion silenced.

If a Republican decides he needs health care, he goes about shopping for it, or may choose a job that provides it.
A Democrat demands that the rest of us pay for his health care.

If a Republican reads this, he'll forward it so his friends can have a good laugh.
A Democrat will delete it because he's "offended".

LOL, if that's true then I must be a Republican. Hmmm, why did I always think of myself as something other than a Republican?

I consider myself an independant and I hope this forum keeps out of politics and stays on motorcycles. Sorry - just the way I see it

Perhaps the moderator will move this to the "Lighter Side" where it belongs.

I'm a Democrat and my neighbor is a republican...I find that almost everything posted is the exact opposite of what I've experienced. I'm offended by this post...but I wouldn't delete it. I would however think that the poster is just as ignorant as the author.

Thank you heath3n. I kept trying to figure out what to say, but I kept deleting it in fear of being kicked off the forum!

If the afore-mentioned is true, then so must this be true.

If a Democrat doesn't agree with a social issue, he peacefully demonstrates.
If a Republican doesn't agree with a social issue, he bombs a building.

If a Democrat is angered when 29 miners die from a mine blast, he advocates for more reasonable regulations.
If a Republican is angered when 29 miners die from a mine blast, he blames government for preventing the mine company from being more safe due to the pesky inspections and frequent safety violation fines.

If a Democrat is angered when 40,000 barrels of oil pour daily into coastal waters, he advocates for more reasonable regulations and demands the responsible party fund the entire cleanup.
If a Republican is angered when 40,000 barrels of oil pour daily into coastal waters, he blames government for lacking an aggressive response, argues this is not an environmental disaster, decries the moratorium on deep-sea drilling issued in the wake of said spillage, and still argues for a limited role in government.

If a Democrat is angered over an economic crisis stemming from the egregious and greedy practices of Wall Street financiers resulting in 10% unemployment, he advocates regulating the financial industry and the nefarious tools used.
If a Republican is angered over an economic crisis stemming from the egregious and greedy practices of Wall Street financiers resulting in 10% unemployment, he argues that government regulations are strangling business growth and advocates for the continual use of the nefarious tools used.

Shall I keep going?

I hope we can all agree that such posts do nothing to advance intelligent discourse over such issues or promote solidarity with those of a different view. Not everyone here subscribes to the same political ideology.

As for me, I'll continue to be a progressive independent who judges each issue independently without ideological constraint or by cramming all political values into one of 2 boxes.

Just my thoughts.......

Hey tjb8784, don't ever be afraid to express opposing views here. I have gone to war on many occasions with many subscribers, and have yet to be kicked off. While my views are certainly in the minority here, nearly everyone does show respect. But I stopped visiting the "off topic" boards because I grew tired of arguing politics. I prefer to discuss motorcycles instead.

It is nice to know there's someone else out there though. :)

Agreed...I never would have seen this post had it been posted in the correct forum.
