Can I make it?????

http://goo.gl/maps/QRwnC

Can I make it? On the above route there are no gas stations. I am averaging around 38 MPG on this trip. When I fill up I will "over fill" the tank. I will be traveling 55-60 MPH.

What ya think?

If I read that correctly you will travel 171 mile so at 38 mpg yes, you will be fine. I have gone 190 before but not by choice

That would be my worry. The amount of elevation change could make the ride become a walk.

Go to wally world and get a small gas can, you can find room for it someplace.
Not having to worry about it will make the trip better.

It should make it, but to be sure take a small can of gas with you if you are worried. I use a one quart oil bottle and toss it after your through that spot.

I was going to say no way but then I realized you have a 1600. I would still get a container that you can put a gallon or 1/2 a gallon into for your peace of mind .....and so you don't push it or burn up your fuel pump!

With the results I've been getting with my 1600 nomad so far this year, I wouldn't be concerned to run 190 to 200 on a tank. I've already ran mine 180 twice between fill ups this year and once the reserve light never came on. 55-60 mph should get ya there but I think the extra gas can would keep my nerves down in an area like that. Keep in mind that your phone probably won't get service in an area like that either. Better safe than sorry.

Good luck and be safe.

I would go with the gas can option and add this with it.

http://www.reda-innovations.com/#!pr...can-6m-zip-bag

Well worth the 1.50 cost to make sure no gas smell in the saddlebag

Have a great trip

I would take some extra gas otherwise you won't be rooming with Scott and snuggling in bed together!

Here's another Bill. I would carry at least a gallon of reserve. Don't worry about the title. It would fit in a Nomad bag. Be safe.

Geez Bill....if Gen. Chuck Yeager could have his buddies make an air drop to him of steaks and booze when he was fishing in the Sierra Nevada....you should be able to get your Park Ranger bros to run you out a little sip of fuel if its gets iffy...no...??...
