Laconia 2012

In the Americade thread the idea of going as a group to Laconia next year came up. I felt that this deserved it's own thread to discuss it.
Tmebandit will do a little re-con mission on hotel/ motels when he goes this year, and Mac has offered camping at his place.
Bear in mind that any hotels in the area will get booked really quickly, so a commitment will be needed pretty soon if going that route.

Just to let everybody know, during Laconia bike-week there is no bargain for rooms. ::) They actually raise the price for that week

They are in the 200$ per night. In 2008-09 I stayed at the super 8 in Tilton NH.15 miles from weirs beach and they were 195$ -225$ US

The cabin I have rented this year is $1035 US For 4 nights in the last weekend, Thursday night to Monday am. sleeps 2 couples
Can't get less then 4 nights.

Last year we went for the first weekend, 3 nights and that cost $850 US and we could sleep 6 in the cottage.

For money conscious riders, Macs' offer is the best

Norm: check out the KOA campgrounds in New Hampshire in Woodstock, they have basic cabins for 4-5 persons. It was $69.00 a night plus 10 bucks a head, based on 2 persons. Chocorua Koa has larger cabins kitchen fireplace etc 4-6 persons its on the east side of the lake ,may try this place next year. We stayed in Woodstock 30 minutes from Laconia and didn't book until March.

And you point would be Sly?

IF, We happen to have the North Eastern / Eastern Canadian rally right after Laconia, we could do both in one trip and cut down on the amount of times you would have to cross the bridge to the U.S. :( :(

Larry has been scoping out the P.A wilds for the rally. I not sure how much riding we would do if we had it in Laconia with all the bike traffic. I was just saying that if the timing was right we could hit Laconia for a few days and then ride down to the rally.
