Looking For Ideas
I'm looking for a way to get a 03 Meanie from St Charles Mo to Boca Raton FL.
I just finalized a deal on one sitting on a dealers floor through ebay. I know that the proper way would be to fly up and ride it back. But the temps are supposed to fall this weekend and the idea of riding an unfamiliar bike with no wind protection 1200 miles just doesn't appeal to me anymore. So if you have experience with a shipper or are trailering down for Biketoberfest, or any other reasonable thoughts, let me know. TIA I think MT

MT check this out. I have not used them personally. Maybe someone who has can chime in and let us know the good and the bad. If you need someone to coordinate for you on this end, I'd be glad to help. Just PM me and let me know.

Haulbikes would have it here around Nov 12th.
I'm not sure I want to wait that long. MT

MAS, I've used MTS before, they're great, deliver door to door. I had them bring up a Nomad from TX., great service, great people. Usually about 1 wk. delivery time.
Heres a list of the top ones.... http://www.motorcycleshippingcarrier...FdgKgQodav0PTg There is one thats based out of Fl., that I was gonna get them to ship a drifter up here (OK) from Fl. I don't remember their name, but they specialized in bikes, they are like the top rated haulers. Great price, too! Door to door also, Insured, tied down in trailer with a protective frame around bike. Check with Uber, they ship too sometimes, don't know if you wanna go that route, some folks doing the long distance Hot-Shots from up north, to the southern states with partially empty trailers. Way back when Saia Motorfreight also....but no liftgate service. Pick up at depot.

I had an 03 Meanie for a few years. Fly me up there and I'll ride it back at a highly illegal rate of speed for you...

Just a thought
If you fly you could rent a small uhaul truck and haul it back. I am not sure what that might cost.
The bike should never be better ready for a road trip than the day you pick it up from the selling dealer. You should have a few more good days of riding weather. Just don't start too early in the day. congrats on the new bike. Looking forward to hearing what you decide to do.

I found a local, to me, company that specializes in east coast MC transport.
They have excellent reviews, and the turn around time is better than most of the others, their price is $475. It will be here in about 2 weeks. http://www.idtransport.com/motorcycletransport.htm I'll let everyone know how they do. The parts have already started to arrive for this new canvas. This is a new experience working on one with another sitting there ready to ride. Now I just need to sell the little 500. MT

Good deal MT. Do let us know how they did for future reference. Just in case.

The Meanie Baggers are cool! I really like them. I was looking for one when I stumbled across the classic that I bobbed....but lots of folks are adding fairings and bags to the meanies. I think they look really good like that if done correctly....

It's here and I can't wipe the grin of my face.
ID Transport will get a big recommendation from me. Great service and on time. I've already put the Nomad floorboards on. This thing is set up right. The big three have already been done. And she is a screamer. I saw triple digit speeds today, but I don't care to do that very often, especially with no windshield. More to follow, there's still time to ride. MT
