Planning on a new vaquero.

I am looking at picking up a new vaquero. From reading all these post the Ivan flash will be first. I want exhaust because I love loud exhaust. I have read fitment issues with cobra slip ons, also read that Ivan sells the vance and hines. How much louder is the freedom performance true duals over vance and hines? No BAK for now probably just a drop in K&N.

Also handlebars, I am looking at roaring toyz bolt on's or fmb bolt on's. I don't want to mess with cables or wires on a brand new bike, not yet at least. I havent found many reviews on the bolt ons though.

Welcome from Northern California!

I have the Cobra Tri Flo slip ons but they wouldn't be loud enough for you. I don't know about the others. You will be happy with Ivanizing your bike.

Get the V&H exhaust. You will love the sound and how loud they are.

Just something to think about - Get the Vaquero - Ride it a while then see what it tells you it needs. (Except for the Ivanization upgrade - Actually wait on that just a little while then you will be able to appreciate what it did for you).

You never know - you just might enjoy listening to your Radio cranked up instead of the loud pipes.

One of the biggest things I warn people about the 1700's is to not think that "I had to do this or that on my last bike so the 1700 is going to need that" Ride it - See what it needs for you. Then modify.

Just my 2 cents.

That brings up another question I have. Cobras, vance and Hines, and Freedom duals..... which allows you to hear the radio when cruising at high way speeds or do they all allow you to hear the radio still.

I have a K & N filter in the stock air box because I like the looks of the dog bowls, Cobra straight cut slip ons, and Ivan's reflash. I love the sound of the Cobra's. They have a nice bark to them when you hit the throttle. At cruising speed they still have great sound but I can hear the stereo just fine. However I do have the Polk 6-1/2" speakers and a Clarion 300 watt amp installed, so I'm sure that has something to do with it. Aside from that I like Mike's suggestion. Ride it a while before you make any changes.

I have a stock radio and Hogtune speakers with Cobra Tri Flo exhaust. I wear earplugs and a full face modular helmet and can hear the radio at highway speeds. Most of my riding is rural mountain and country back roads and my setup works great for me.

Greetings and Welcome,

Yes, (+1) wait a little bit before you do too much. IVANs is the best mod you will do, but you meed to appreciate what it did... :)
Had the V&H slips on, they were pretty loud. Currently running the pro pipe, it hangs low enough it impacts the right lean angle, so it may have to go.

Ride safe,
Smokier
