Parking in Las Vegas

I'm heading to Vegas through Death Valley the weekend of 9 Oct. I'll be staying at Bally's on the strip for a couple of days. Not sure of the motorcycle parking at Ballys, I've been there with the car, but not the bike.

I've never had the bike in Vegas before and am looking for input on the best places to park. I'm packing lite, so I'll park at whichever hotel has the best and safest parking. Looking for security, ease of entry and exit, etc. Do any of the hotels have bike parking near the Valet area for better security?

Any and all suggestions wanted and appreciated. Thanks in advance, James

Why not give Bally a call and ask them. I am sure they have lot's of security camera's and roaming guards.

I was planning on calling Bally's, but I was hoping for some more "real world" experience. I find the hotels tend to tell you "no problem", no matter what you ask. I'd like to find someone that has actually parked a bike at one of the hotels, and can give me the good and the bad.

The strip can be a real bear to Navigate and I'll be getting there late Friday afternoon. Also, I plan a couple of day trips, so ease of access/exit is also a plus.

That was my first target, but I coach my grandsons 10 and under baseball team and we have a tournament that weekend. So I'll be having the time of my life, just at a different activity.

I just park on the highest level of the parking deck at whatever hotel I'm at. Most of the time the top deck is almost empty.

As far as security; This is Las Vegas, there's a camera watching you and your bike wherever you go. Never had a problem in a parking deck.

If you want to get anywhere STAY OFF LAS VEGAS BLVD.. I15 isn't much better with massive construction going on. If you're going North or South, head East first and get away from LV Blvd. & I15.

Sin city Stan, thanks. That's the kind of input I was looking for. I'm fairly familiar with the back roads to the hotel parking on the strip. I'm coming in from Pahrump via Death Valley, so should miss the bulk of the traffic, then take Flamingo to the backside of Bally's.

The company I used to work for in Salt Lake had branch offices in Nevada. In Vegas, the main warehouse/admin office was east of the airport. We had acquired a small company on the west side of town and I was sent down there to get them networked, etc. I had to make multiple trips a day between the two offices. It would sometimes take 30 minutes just to get across the strip. I wasted more time on the road there than I spent working. This was maybe 15 years ago, no idea if it's improved since then. I kinda doubt it.

Nope, it's only gotten worse. Every tourist when they hit town wants to cruise the strip. Also, there seems to be non stop construction. Audrie St. off of E. Harmon puts you on the back side of Ballys/Paris, MGM, Flamingo. IP, Etc. I plan on making a day trip to Red Rock park and may take in the Dam.

I'm the Security manager for one of the large hotel and casino chains in the country. Our corporation owns several hotel and casino properties throughout the country. My suggestion to you is to park as close to the front doors of the casino as possible. It's well lit and lots of pedestrian traffic. Stay out of the multi-level parking structures as most of our problems occur in those areas. Surveillance cameras will do you no good whatsoever. We do have over 650 cameras rolling 24/7, but only one or two technicians are watching the screens at any one time. If there's a problem, all we can do is roll back the tape to view the incident. But... by that time the incident has already occurred. Basically the cameras are aimed at the perimeter of the building and not toward the parking lots. Our priority is to protect the casino's assests and the guests inside the building, and not parked cars. And yes, we do have roving patrols in the parking lots, but it's very sporadic and we still have problems in the parking lots that we can't avoid. We've been luck so far in that we have only have had one incident were a motorcycle was pushed over onto its side in the parking lot.

I'd think park close to the valet stand and tip a valet a finski to keep an eye on it for you.

Wow, that was close to what they said...

I just got off the phone with the valet at Ballys and they do have designated motorcycle parking near the valet. If you are coming in off the backside of the hotel, just go down the alley between Paris/Ballys and you'll run into the valet area. Good to know, skip the traffic and valet parking without waiting for the valet.
