speedometer/Odometer dailure

I am at a loss folks and appreciate any and all help.

My 07 Nomad, mostly stock has had the Odometer and speedometer stop working. The auto cancelling turn signals as well. Bike has never been down or wrecked.
Clock, fuel gauge and high beam indicator work fine.

A different forum and a Kawasaki mechanic have told me to just replace the unit and all would be well. So, I bought a different unit on eBay and everything works well EXCEPT the speedometer and Odometer.

Is there a sending unit somewhere that could have caused this or fuse somewhere?

I am stumped and saddened that the replacement did not correct the problem.

Any help or suggestions are welcomed.
