Seafoam

Ok. I bought my first can of Seafoam and the directions state 1oz for every gallon so that is what I used.

I added it to my Nomad, gas straight edger, pressure washer, gas string edger, lawn mower, and 3 cans of gas. I started all of them first , then added Seafoam, then started all again. My intent was just to keep them "winterized".

My question is; many on here have stated "running a can" through on the Nomad....is more than 1oz per gallon better? How much is too much?

I don't think Seafoam will do much for winterizing, there are other products for that. I put about 2 oz in 1 gal for my ATV and it really cleaned it up fast, couldn't believe how fast it smoothed out.

A number of people here have mentioned Seafoam for winterizing, although I don't see that as one of the its advertised uses.

I've been told that as long as it's mixed with the gas and runnin through the carbs at storage it will keep em from getting gummed up over the winter. I swear by it and use it in all my small engines and my vulcan 750 regularly. A couple cans worth saved me several hundred in carb work on my vulcan.

I went into the local menard's last saturday and they were all sold out on seafoam. They usually have quite a few cans in there!! It had gotten cold out again so I suppose people were having troubles.

I used the seafoam, because I'm running gas from Mexico. The gas is really dirty and the seafoam cleaned it up nicely. I have also began using it my Truck.

It stabilizes the gas, that is its winterizing capabilities.

Not sure about its winterizing capabilites but its near the best fuel additive for cleaning out the system IMO.

On the can it says "treats 8-25 gallons", it is in a 16oz can so 2oz per gallon would be fine. It also says 1 1/2 oz per gallon average for cleaning. When I parked my nomad for the longest duration this winter I put in 8oz for a full tank. Then the rest of the bottle went into the 4wheeler and the dirt bike. This stuff works great as a cleaner and says on the bottle that it is a fuel stabilizer. Just my 2 cents. Ride Safe!!!

P.S.- Did anyone else us a measuring cup like I did? I guess I am just a perfectionist. Did those of you that measured notice that there is not 16oz in that 16oz bottle? ??? I guess that is an approx. measurement. I can't remember how short it was, I just remember thinking there should be another 1/2oz or oz in there when I finished off the can.

I use Stabil before winter. Then run the tank almost dry in the spring before filling it with premium and a dose of seafoam to clean out any winter deposits and carbon.

Yes I measure mine out, 5oz to a full tank of gas. I run a tank of gas and sea foam mix through the bikes once a month during riding weather. I also keep a full tank of gas with a sea foam mix in the bikes over the winter also.

I measure mine with a 1 1/2 oz shot glass. Good for the engine but burns my throat. :'(
