Wildfires

Anyone else been evacuated lately? We are about six miles due south of Magnolia and had to evacuate becuase of the fires along 1488 and 1774. Got all that we could loaded into the trailer, truck and her car and went to some friends and hooked up the trailer. Living like qypsies, but all are safe and sound. Several people not too far away lost everything. We are the blessed ones. Prayers to all who had to go. Stay safe.

My thoughts and prayers are with you. I sure hope everything will be all right for you guys. It has been a tough year this year with tornadoes, hurricanes and wildfires. Hoping and praying you guys will get a good rain.

I've had wildfires all around me, but none in my immediate area. Hope all goes OK for you. I hope you get to come back home soon.

I read that there have been 1000 homes lost in Texas, a lot of people in this country are going to be rebuilding their lives after all this crap ends. Or will it?

I just wish you guys could have had a portion of the rain we had last weekend. It would have been very beneficial to you. It's been beautiful here since Monday afternoon. Cool temperatures with a dry North wind. Beautiful riding weather.

Problem is Texas hasn't had any significant rainfall for over 6 months. The Western part of Texas has been in a drought for over a year. Our lakes are down 5-8 feet. And with the temperatures hitting over 105 degrees for the past two months, it's now dried everything out to where everything is like a match ready to go off.

Then TS Lee came through Louisiana earlier this week. We didn't get any rain, but we got all the wind gusts that started multiple wildfires all over East Texas and Central Texas. Everyday is a new adventure around here. One good thing is the temps have gone down. Right now it's 60 degrees in the morning and 90 during the day. Far cry from 85 degrees at night and 105-108 degrees during the day.

Weather forecasters are saying no rain in sight for the next two weeks. What amazes me are the trees..... there are trees in East Texas that are shutting down from the lack of water. Everywhere you look you can see dead trees. Experts say they are sheading their leaves, but are not dead. We'll see when Spring gets here.

The trees look dead here Trip. I would say that around 20% of the trees here look dead. I know several people who lost their homes to fire in Bastrop. It is truly a difficult time for those negatively affected by storms, rain, tornadoes, hurricanes, drought and fires. I'm hoping and praying for better days ahead.

We have 10" of water in the basement and no end in sight for this rain in central Pa. Creeks are overflowing everywhere, the Rivers are in some places 3 times over flood stage roads are washed out homes flooded and no end in sight for this relentless rain. 2011 will sure go down as one of, if not the worst years in History for weather in this area. Floods, Hurricanes, Tornadoes, and Snowstorms not to even mention record heat. This will be a year to be remembered all across the country for extreme weather conditions for such a long period of time. :(

The financial burden and how it will be paid, for all this extreme weather damage across the Country seems impossible to ever fully comprehend. :(

Aint it just strange? You guys up north are drowning while down here we're burning up. This will certainly go down as a year of extremes. Best wishes and prayers for all of you in whatever emergency you find yourselves.
