I had quite a few "favorite" cars, but I've got to say my 68 Firebird tops the list. I blew a few engines and finally put a 350 LT1 vette engine in it, holly double pumper, headers etc, etc,. Like Stan said, gas was cheap and I got around 7-8 miles to the gallon. Pretty much all my friends had muscle cars back then.

Judging by the pic not much has changed, you have to have balls to ride beside Tim.

We had a 1962 Merc Comet S22 sold here yesterday for $6K, it was a 6 cyl.

Here's a '63 Conet.

I've had several cars in the past that were sharp, but I guess I was kinda partial to my red 1966 Chevrolet Impala SS396, 4 speed, American mag wheels. '55 Chevy BelAir hardtop with 365 horse 327, 4 speed was a great one too. Saw a '55 similar to the one I had at a cruise-in car show a while back, that a guy had recently bought for $35,000!!!!! I could kick myself for ever parting with that car 40 plus years ago!

Good to see some one reaching back to the 50's,jd. My favorite was my '56 Olds 2 door hard top Holiday 88 with a 324(?), if my memory serves me correctly. What a beast ..... chrome all over the place and ran like hell. I slammed it into a set of concrete stairs and it did more damage to the stairs and house than the front grill!!!!!!!!!! So much for the walk down memory lane, I'll stick with today's cars and my Ultra Classic.

Amazing, most everyone except myself so far has listed nothing but American made muscle cars.

When I first started dating my wife, she was driving a '56 Chevy 2-door hard top. All original and really sweet!

I was driving a '78 Pontiac Trans-Am. Both cars were a lot of fun, and I really wish I had kept them both.

They look like the pants we called bell bottoms here in the east.
I thought everyone wore them back then.

1967 Dodge Dart. 4-door. Slant 6. Fill the oil and check the gas. Probably the most dependable car I've ever owned.
