Do you think these will fit my 05 1600 Nomad?? I don't know if all 1600 exhausts are the same or not. Thanks again .

I don't see why they wouldn't work for ya cathoga.

Yeah Delinda, you'd think he would lay them on a rag or something.

Thanks again for the quick replies. Got my bid in. Hopefully he laid them down very gently.Glad you folks have an eye for detail. I never even noticed he laid them on the pavement. Maybe it's "soft" pavement :)

glad I'm not the only one who noticed that, too! A shop towel, a couple of books, even a dirty rag or two would've been better, but oh well, I'm sure they're fine. :-/

Good luck on the bidding,
DS

I see you won the bid for the pipes so the question doesn't matter now. You bought'm..... Oh yeah, they'll fit. Now check BD's postings on how to destroy them (Removing Silencers).

I actually used a 1 3/4 hole saw on the other side and it worked perfectly. Man was it tuff to get that cylinder out. Don't know if it's because I have 12K on the pipes or just getting weak in my old age :). I actually got it to move back and forth pretty fast but that last 1/4 inch of expanded pipe was brutal. Thanks for all the help. Think I will gut out that goat bladder while I have a spare also.

Doc. Nope didn't burn them out, drilled them, one actually, out. And didn't do a very good job of it either I might add. But I do learn from my mistakes :)

Please post your results of removing the goat. I've removed the silencers and drilled both baffles, but wonder what drilling the goat would add or distract in sound and performance. Thanks

Thanks Brad. You're one of the few who have actually looked to see what that Latin phrase means. I have it on all my sigs :)

As for gutting the goat bladder, I am not sure I will be able to discern the difference between gutted and not gutted as this is going to be a one shot deal. Silencers out, goat bladder gutted. I will back the bike up to the cellar door to see how they sound w/o silencers and then replace the pipes and bladder and do it again. The bike is pretty much in storage in the cellar but it hasn't been "winterized" yet so I can run it. Just can't run it down the road :) A bit too cold for my tastes. Lows in the 20's highs in the upper 30's .
