New Year's Trifecta
I posted something about this ride last year so I'll do it again this year.
There is a series of RTE's that I go to at the end of the year called the Trifecta. They are: 1. Stockton, AL at Stagecoach Restaurant on December 30. If you come, you'll be part of about 600 riders that come for the "Last Ride of the Year". Last year, there were riders from CA, AZ and all points east. You'll see about any type of bike imaginable. Starts at breakfast time and ends around 2:00PM. 2. Brooksville, FL at Coney Island Hot Dog Stand. We usually get about 60-70 riders at this one. The tire kicking starts at 11:00AM and usually everyone is gone around 1:00PM. 3. The first ride of 2013 will be to Shrimp R Us in Welaka, Florida. This is near Palatka, FL. Usually about 40-50 riders make it to this one. If you are interested in any of these ride to eats, please go to the Motorcycle Touring Forum on Delphi to get GPS coordinates and more information.

Yes it is Goose. And yes we will be riding up to Bay Minette, AL on December 29 then to Stockton on December 30th for a late breakfast. From there we head home. Coney Island is about 30 miles south of us. On New Year's Day the RTE is about 100 miles north east.
The trip up to Bay Minette is about 450-480 miles, depending on our route. We usually do a lot of 2 lane road on the way up but slab it across I-10 to I-75 on the way back to make some time. Last year we went up to see our son in LaGrange, GA first. He moved to Decatur, GA so I don't know if we will do that this year or not.

2 days?, are you going to make this a overnight since they are so close?
If you want to ride up to La Grange the day before I was thinking I might try to ride down to the Stagecoach?? And what time is your late breakfast?

I will ride up to Bay Minette the day before, do breakfast at Stagecoach the next morning and hit the slab home that same day. We usually have breakfast around 9 or 930.
Since my son lives in Decatur now, I don't know if we are going to go up there before but Tammy may have other plans. If we do, we will leave there on 29th for Bay Minette.

I'm watching the thread. and seeing how my schedule is going. I have to visit family in Georgia at Christmas.
I have to see how the plan comes together.

At the moment, Alabama looks good right now Coach. That way I can make it back home to spend New Years with the fam. I'm still thinking.
Can you hear the whistle on that train of thought?

I was about to ask the same thing Coach. That forum is hard to navigate to us unfamiliar with it. At first I was considering Alabama, but that's too crowded. So I think maybe the sea food thing sounds good.
I'd kinda like to be home for New Years and drink LIQUEUR AND RIDE MOTORCYCLES!!!!! I can't do that kind of thing around Mrs Coach, and if I do do, it and she finds out she'll spank my hand with a ruler.

Should be able to make the run to Welaka at the very least! Who can turn down a good shrimp dinner after all.............
Plus, it will be good to meet some of y'all ! As the date gets closer let me know the route you will take and I should be able to meet up with you along the way. You may be going through pretty close to where I live if starting from Crystal River.
