Fieldsheer jackets

Anybody had any experience with this brand of jackets? they make a mesh textile without a liner for $98 and a hot weather mesh jacket(more mesh area) w/liner for $188 thur bikerstore.com. Both look like excellent warm weather jackets with CE armour and all the bells/whistles. just wondering if they held up well? thanks. :-)

If I'm not mistaken, I believe Markg has a Fieldsheer jacket.

I purchased a Fieldsheer jacket this spring and I love it. It is waterproof and has adequate venting to keep you cool during the summer. It is not the mess type and I am considering buying one in the spring.

I have the Fieldsheer mesh with the full zip in liner and really like it. Took some rides to soften it up but a great jacket, especially summer rides into the NC mountains where temps vary through the day and elevation. The liner is supposedly waterproof, I'd suggest "very water resistant". I rode it with the liner through a torrential downpour and it did a good job but wish I'd put my rain jacket on. for the typical rainshower I'm sure it would be fine.

I own this jacket Doc. I wear it on my daily 56 mile commute on California freeways. The jacket fits true to size, so if wear a large sized jacket, then you would wear a large Field sheer Mesh jacket. The fabric is soft & very open allowing for maximum air flow. I wear mine in 100+ degree temps & it's cooler than wearing tee shirt alone as the jacket keeps the sun off your exposed body & the silver color does not absorb the heat from the sun. The Armour is soft & stays in place. I been wearing it for about 6 months now & it has not shown any signs of wear. I would recommend it. Hope this helps....-Rich

P.S. The Helmet Source does have free shipping & they have a $10.00 off coupon if you order on line. Enter Code Rider5 at checkout.

I noticed that as well, how wearing a silver mesh jacket keeps you cooler than bare skin in the sun.

Don't have the Fieldsheer, but have similar, and agreed that it can be cooler than just a T-shirt. The breathable waterproof removable liner makes it real versatile. Went back to the leather today though because it was in the low 50s this AM but he mesh with its liner would have been tolerable.

You'll like it Doc. When you have the liner in and the sun is hot it'll remind you to take the liner out. You get the feeling of being a turkey in an oven bag.

Beez, If you get one with the breathable liner it is not quite so bad, the nonbreathable ones turn into a steam bath real fast. And no, you do not want to breath the liner, that is something else entirely.
