Tire plug kits

The travel kit thread got me thinking. What experiences have ya'll had with tire plug kits. I need to put one in my saddle bags (with a smalll pump)

What have ya'll had experience with that works? I recently ran across a product called "tyre Guardian". It's a liquid sprayed into tube and claims to be able to stop a leak from the inside with minimal air loss.

By the same token, what are some of the crap products to stay away from.

I tried one of those flatproof products years ago and all it did was make a gooey mess inside the tire, I think a plug kit is the way to go for an emergency. Icarry one in the bike but have yet to need it. In my truck Ive used them a few times and it works for me. I'll drive with that plugged tire until its worn out.

What type of plug do you carry? I've seen the plastic cone shaped plugs that you supposed to be able to push in and snap off. It seems almost too easy to be any good.

Thoughts?

Also what type of pump do you carry?

I carry the same ones that I have for my truck. They are the sticky gooey strips about 4-5" long that you insert with a tool. I also carry rubber cement that I also apply when I insert the plug into the tire. The mushroom plugs are probably the best to use, especially on the bike.

Your Nomad has tubeless tires.

Get a plug kit, either the mushroom or rope-type plugs and a small Slime compressor.

I bought the kit I used at O"relly's and it worked just fine!

I carry a plug kit, (the strip type) and compressor. I had a previous bike with tubes and so carried slime. I put that stuff in a car tire once and while it stopped the leak, it unbalanced the tire something terrible.

I, have the pocket tire plugger from stop&go Have never used it. there is a place not far from me that works on motorcycles ATVs & snowmobiles. thay have a pile of wore out tires there and I think I will go there and find one with a punture and try out the tire plugger. will get to see what it looks like on the inside of tire and get some practice using it.

Of course it won't work on Cindy's bike as she has those stupid tube tires. I have AMA roadside assistance for those.

I carry Dynaplug but haven't used it yet. Read 2 articles on it where both writers did multiple flats with no problems. Tips is a very sharp small brass tip with the "rope" behind it so you glides in easily. Carry 5 Co2 cartridges and despenser gun for air.. All of this fits in a small pouch in my trunk.

I carry the standard plug kit like Ring. I have used it a couple of times. (Got a plug in the rear right now). I also carry the small Co2 cylinders (like a pellet gun uses) to air it up. It takes 4 cylinders to air it up if completely flat (mine is the stop and go kit). They plug kit works fine. I have a couple thousand miles on the current plug but I do have new Dunlop wide white walls ordered.
