It was raining to beat hell....although my buddy said it was still pretty packed (he drove through Anacortes in his car).

Rick,

It rained all night and most of morning, there was no point of riding that late in the day, crossing the border, a quick visit to Anacortes, crossing the border again, getting home late, etc.

But if you don't mind seeing last year's pics, I'd made up the following for ourselves to watch in the winter time:

http://kixtartone.net/pix/OysterRun2009/

Note the Avenue Bread bakery in Old Fairhaven, great pastries and coffee for breakfast, Longhorn Saloon in Edison for a cold beverage or two, El Cazador Mexican restaurant in Oak Harbour, really good food and last but not least, the four Nomads parked side by side on Commercial Av, Anacortes.

Cheers,

Elvis

It was misty/rainy all day.. we stayed at a hotel in Mt. Vernon.. then rode out to Anacortes. It's a real bottle-neck the last mile or two.. The group I was riding with/ we pretty much cancelled the usual day-ride. But it's all about the journey, not just the destination.
