Rally in the Redwoods-Stopovers

This post is for those members from the NW Group and Canada who plan to ride down the Oregon Coast with my group to the "Rally in the Redwoods" next summer.

We will leave the Everett area early on Sunday August 21 and stop in Lincoln City, Oregon that evening for our rest stop before riding to Crescent City on Monday August 22. I will be returning via the same route in reverse, again stopping in Lincoln City on Friday night August 26.

I have made reservations at the Best Western Landmark Inn for those two nights and suggest anyone wishing to stay with our group do the same. Hotels on the Oregon Coast book well in advance, so you can never make a reservation far enough ahead. You can always cancel later if you need to.

Google maps shows the distance from Lincoln City, OR to Crescent City, CA as 255 miles, but 6.5 hours of ride time, not including stops! Hwy 101 along the Oregon Coast is a twisty affair with many summer travelers. While a very beautiful and spectacular ride, patience is a virtue and there is no reason to hurry. There are lots of little towns and tourist places to stop, so it should be a great ride down and back.

I hope many of you can join us....and understand that some members may wish to haul ass up I-5 on their return home to save time. Either way, if you plan to ride with our group, make your reservation(s) ASAP for either one or both nights in Lincoln City...then kick back and relax!

I will announce/post the main base hotel in Crescent City as soon as the manager tells me they are ready to take individual reservations!

what is your planed check out time from your stop in Lincoln City. I may ride out that morning to ride the 101 with you. it is,after all, only one tank of gas from my place.
