Tire Pressure Monitor
I saw these a while back and really did not think they would be worth it. After reading this tread, maybe I was wrong. Sounds like a good addition.

Tire Pressure Monitor
I got one of these last week. I got a coupon from pay-pal and used it on ebay. Total cost, $137 delivered to the house. Got it installed, but haven't had much of a chance to check it out. Like Ells, I did have to rotate the front stem about 45 degrees so it would clear the brake caliper.

Tire Pressure Monitor
I can't seem to get a reading from mine. I have it installed, but it always shows 0.0 PSI (and I did just fill the tires). I tried resetting, taking the batteries out and doing again, etc. Any suggestions for anything obvious I might have missed?

So Ells, how much pressure change is there from when you go out to the garage in the morning, and when you get to work?
I'm always curious how much adjustment I need to make with warm vs cold tires and filling them. |

Nighthawk, Seems like it senses the wheel turning before it gets a reading, and also shuts down after about 30 minutes of the tire not rotating. If you are still not getting a reading, you might go through the "training" mode by pressing and holding the "set" button for 3 seconds and it should find them after a minute or so. I did the training mode to get mine going.
Dan, I've seen about a 5 PSI increase from parked (overnight) to sustained (about 15 minutes or more) highway speeds. Login or Register to Remove Ads |

Thanks for the info Ells. I've wanted to know that for a while, but not bad enough to pull over and check :)

I found the problem (with help from the TireGard Tech folks). They had a bad batch of AAA batteries. Even though the control was turning on, there wasn't enough juice. I replaced it with a good battery, unscrewed the sensors and screwed back in, and was back in business, and it works like a champ now.
