Hey Kris
How many have confirmed that they will join you and Tricia for the ride through BC?

My oldest son is here helping me frame up our new house. He came through from Edmonton, through Banff and the Rogers Pass. Apparently there is a lot of construction between Golden and Banff. That will slow us down some. The traffic also will be terrible heavy that weekend cause its a holiday weekend. But we should still be able to make Banff in about 5 hours, give or take!

Whatever it takes, its gonna be fun!! We had some anxiety these last few days though. It seems with our moving most of our stuff into storage and some to our 5th wheel, our passports got put somewhere we would be sure to remember. But our memories are not what they used to be and after much wailing and knashing of teeth, they finally showed up, so we are good to go!! :)

Hey Mike,
Joining Tricia and I leaving from Everett will be Steve Bishop...(he's the one who I thought might stay at your place awhile back)...and Anthony Friendy. Anthony rode to Vancouver Island with us last weekend. Both of them will be riding solo.

Rickyboy called me today and it looks pretty good that he will join us too....so we might meet him at his cabin as we will be going right by it enroute to the border. If not there....we'll meet him at the Tim Hortons just across the border. Soooo.....it looks like we should have four Nomads when we roll into Sicamous Sunday morning... ! Looks like the weather is going to be great as well....lots of sun and heat!

I will put out one last feeler to a few folks, but I think that will probably be it. Looking forward to hitting the road come Saturday morning. Like you say....it might be a bit of a slow go enroute to Banff....but we will just press along.

Google Maps show 142 kms from Kamloops to Sicamous...(1 hour 53 min). It's probably quicker than that, so we will plan to leave Kamloops right at 7:30 am Sunday morning. That should put us at the restaurant in Sicamous somewhere around 9:00am or just after. We can grab some breakfast and hit the road from there... :)! I'll call you from Kamloops once we get settled in Saturday evening for one last confirmation.

BTW....Tricia says a trunk mod for Milo should go right to the top of your "honeydew" list.... ;)!

Its good to hear Rick might still be able to make the trip with us. So it won't be a huge group but will be just right!! :)

Your travel time from Kamloops to Sicamous sounds about right. It might be a bit longer, depending on your travel speed.

We have no cell service where we are camped out so you will have to call on our home phone number. If you don't still have it, we'll get it to you.

House building is going well. Trussses will arrive tomorrow afternoon!

Talk to you soon.

Mike

Rally Attendance

Hi,.... :'( :'(
Tis with a very heavy heart that I make this post.
I went to the Dr and had my stitches out today. I asked him if he thought it would be OK to start riding the bike. Usually in the past, he's said "sure, if it doesn't hurt,... whatever you think" This time around though he suggested that perhaps I should wait a week or so before I do a long ride like I want to do.
Seeing as this is a WCB injury and it's "Them" that are paying my wages I feel I better take his advice.
I'm sad to have to sit this out because I thought for sure he'd say yes and I really wanted to attend. Next time I guess. maybe in a week or so I'll be able to get away with "midge"/Brian for a few days.
Have a great time everyone and stay safe. Mike I'd be OK if you drank any of the shots of the "ta kill ya" that Kris might have given to me. ;) ;)

Ahhhhhh.....Rick.....that sucks :-[...!! I was looking forward to sharing the ride with you for sure. You are right though....better to be safe than sorry. If you are going to be at your cabin next weekend...we would be happy to stop in for a quick break on our way by and make you feel even worse... ::) . Let me know before the week is out if you plan to be there and maybe PM me an address I can program into my GPS. Don't worry....at the rally....we'll have a shot or two in your honor... !

PS....Does waiting until Saturday qualify as waiting a "week or so"....?? Just curious.... !

Sorry to hear that knee will keep you from the rally Rick. Just not in the cards for this one but there will be lots of time for riding still this summer. Anyhoo, what fun could you possibly be missing, hanging out with a bunch of grey haired old fogeys(talking about myself here ) riding the best bikes on the planet on some of the best roads anywhere and sipping on glasses of stuff that just can't be good for you!!!....sigh.... ...You'll be missed.

Don't think I haven't thought that this week before might qualify as enough time before a ride, Kris. I'm still thinking about that aspect, and should I go? or should I not go? ???

I feel good enough to ride !!! It's just if anything did happen and my recovery got set back and WCB found out, "They" would probably discontinue coverage or worse.

Mike you must be talking about yourself when you say " hanging out with a bunch of grey haired old fogeys" because I cut what hair I had, off, and as I remember Kris is getting more and more face to wash every day as well and I'm not sure if there is enough there to tell if it's gray or not.

Kris I'll PM you

Charlie,

I hope you are taking HWy 25 up to Kettle Falls...it is a great ride. Last time I rode it we had almost no traffic and great scenery.
