Waving Rising to the occasion

Went to J&P Cycles and bought a set of risers. They're for a 900, but since they don't make risers for a 1600 Nomad, what the hey? They're Barons, good company, they fit, sort of, till I discovered I couldn't turn the bike. So, I reversed'um, und viola, success! Hoopla! Boy do they make a difference in my hands going to sleep. Best of all it's now possible to clean directly under the handle bars, tach and small gages. So as of 4-12-12, I John B, the Brus, esq., do here by declare the Sick Boy done for the year! Ooha!

I don't understand. Who doesn't make risers for a 1600 Nomad?

Pretty much, NOBODY, monswar Top Cat, (a favorite cartoon from me ute, FYI) it's among THE most neglected bikes by the after market crowd, although not even close to the 1983 Harley FLT, in the J&P, and other manufactures catalogs, including that of Kawasaki. I actually had to scavenge chrome and other parts from the Classic, and the Mean Streak both 1500 and 1600 to get the stuff I wanted on my bike. V&H makes but 2 sets a pipes for it, I could go on! Look up the 900, or 2000 Kw in Kuryakyn's catalog and compare. We get one air cleaner brother, one! We can't get any chrome, side covers, radiator covers, wheels either! And as far a leather coverings, (NOT COUNTING PH Customs of course) it's scavenge time again. Shock absorbers, hard bag latches, buddy the list is endless. Who likes, "make do," stuff on their bike, and I refuse to by Harley crap that's made in China anyway, or here at an overtly inflated cost, $285. bucks for a tailight, come on, to make my Kw., Nomad more appealing to the biker crowd. Sorry, that damned ol soap box found it's way out from the storage unit again. JB-)

Scootworks, Aeromach, Rivco, and Chuckster's Customs all make Nomad risers, and I'm sure there's others. I just ordered a set of the Scootworks risers about an hour ago.
