I found this in one of the Salt Lake Tribune. It's from a column a local guy writes...

Heaven can't wait?
It seems that Daniel P. Dutcher, 27, of Sandy, just couldn't wait to get into the Celestial Kingdom.
Dutcher was clocked at 137 mph by troopers in southern Idaho Sunday as he was zipping toward Utah on his bullet bike. When the troopers tried to pull him over, he sped up in an apparent attempt to beat them to the border.
The Utah Highway Patrol picked up the chase when he entered the Beehive State going 148 mph and finally ended the ordeal about 20 miles later in Box Elder County.
The only thing troopers found in Dutcher's backpack was a Book of Mormon.
Too bad he didn't also possess the church's Articles of Faith, since the 12th one says: "We believe in being subject to kings, presidents, rulers and magistrates, in obeying, honoring and sustaining the law."
Dutcher was charged with a felony for evading a police officer and reckless driving. According to troopers, he said the reason he didn't pull over was that he didn't want to get a ticket.

Now that felony will be on his record for life and a big fine and maybe even a little jail time.
Go figure.

If he'd been caught in AZ, he would have been arrested and jailed. 86 MPH or above -OR- 20 MPH above the posted limit is criminal speeding and you go to jail.

25 mph over the limit gets you arrested here. Experience speaking. Happened to me 32 years ago. 78 mph in a 50 mph zone. New truck with wrong speedo gear in transmission. Ford Motor Company sent me a certified letter stating that my speedo was over 20% off on the slow side. The judge (butt-hole) read the letter and handed it back to me and levied my fine at $180. That was steep in 1976...
