Cold weather riding gear??
Hi
I have been looking at riding jackets and I’m not sure what to buy. I don’t want full leather because of the weight. I would like something to keep me warm down in the teen’s I would also like it to keep me dry in wet weather and if I could get something that I could wear in say the 70's that would be the ideal jacket. So I’m sure it will need to have a zip out lining and possibly be vented. I would also like leather patches in the elbows and shoulders or some other kind of body armor. Is there such a jacket as I’m looking for? What do you guys recommend and what should I expect to pay? Thanks. Water Rat Login or Register to Remove Ads |

Cold weather riding gear??
Not sure where Noel, MO is, but if you are anywhere near Bridgeton, there is a store called CycleGear. They have a great selection of both leather and textile jackets and have really decent prices. They are on the web at http://www.cyclegear.com They have 2 stores in my area and I visit them frequently. Hope this helps!

The Tourmaster Intake jacket fits your bill. About $125 almost anywhere.

Cold weather riding gear??
I just bought the Tourmaster Intake, thanks to Trip's reccommendation on another thread. I really like that jacket!! I haven't used the liners yet, but then again, I just got it. I'm sure it's going to fit the bill for cold weather riding though. I have a Vanson leather jacket that I paid high dollar for. I like it but it's still stiff even after wearing it and trying to break it in. My .02 worth.

Cold weather riding gear??
What about for the lower half? I have regular chaps, but they don't offer much protection, especially when I'm wearing dress pants for work. Any suggestions?

dress pants and chaps, oh my. dress slacks don't stop much wind. A pr of venture over pants would work and be alot warmer. of course a heavy person shouldnt be that cold!

You would think I wouldn't be, but I do get a bit chilly. You would freeze all the way to the bone, ya skinny brotha.

I use snowmobile pants from a two piece suit, they give a lot of protection from the cold in your back and chest area. If you dont want the nylon pants you can also get them in leather.

Cold weather riding gear??
I wear leathers in the warmer whether but they don't seem to keep out cold wind very good. So I wear car-hart type insulated bib coveralls over my jeans and a winter type jacket that is big enough to go over my leather one or a sweat shirt. Tourmaster cold weather gloves keep my hands warm if it is not too cold but they will give out eventually if it gets too bitter. Rode today Post Falls, Idaho area 55 was the high, 29 was the low

If you want to take a trip up to Kansas City you could visit MotorcycleCloseouts.
They seem to have very decent prices. |

This where I bought my wife's and mine jackets. Saved my skin in a go down back in may. Still wearing it. Can get matching pants too. High quality.
