Heads up GPS helmet

Interesting concept with more than a few drawbacks at this time. Not the least of which is the price.

I can use my present GPS on my bike or in my truck. That's more useful to me than that fancy helmet.

Had a Pontiac GTP with heads up display. Didn't take long at all to get used to it, and once I did I never took my eyes off the road again. It displayed absolutely everything that was on the dash. Had digital speedo, but showed analog type tach display. I loved it and would order it in every vehicle I ever owned if it were available. I often wondered if someone would get around to installing it either in a helmet or bike windshield. It will be very interresting to watch the developement of this idea. In the car, it was fully adjustable. It could be moved right or left, up or down and from bright to completely off. I don't know if it would make you a safer rider, but in the car, it added a huge safety factor.

With the crazy drivers these days, it might make sense to wear your motorcycle helmet in your truck.

That was exactly my thought. It would make more sense to take output from existing GPS and invent a HUD mechanism. I would also like FLIR for motorcycles.

I think that would be a much better idea.

They will have a hard time with marketing this at $2000. A small transparent LCD that can be fitted into any existing helmet or even something like google glasses would be much better. Although I really hesitate to encourage the use of these things. Think those guys walking through the grocery store with the BT headsets on are talking to you? The term glasshole has already been invented for those that will be wearing these glasses around. :)

BTW, you can get FLIR now if you have the $$$$.

Glasshole, now that's funny.

I saw a FLIR video of a guy driving at night spotting deer on the side of the road. Seemed to work well.
