Summer In Phoenix :-)

Yep it's finally here! Went to the Chiro. today and had to park in a sunny spot. When I was all done with the Doc., temp. on my handle bar thermometer was 138°. Good thing I had ice water in hand and cotton shop towels in the side bag to cool off the seat. Official temp was only 110° (tied the record for today), but they don't park that one in the sun.

Barely have 90 days at the new "J.O.B." Money/Time is still too tight for Rally Rides.

BTW, I really enjoy the heat here. I get a motorcycle ride and a dry sauna at the same time. Temp on the handlebar thermometer didn't drop below 120° until after I was parked in the shade at home. The "Key" is to never ride without sun screen.

75 degrees with a slight breeze here. Didn't worry about towels for the seat or parking in the shade.

My lovely wife pointed out that while I was at the Chiro. the motor was cooking the thermometer. Still hot no matter how you slice it. Maybe this year we will break the dreaded 123° record high temp at Sky Harbor.

So is my oven, but I'm not crawling in!

I know our humidity in Tennessee really sucks in the summer, feels like you're trying to breathe water - and I don't have gills! Still, I'll stay out of the oven! Keep it out there Mark!

I follow the weather in a few different spots. 90* isn't bad and most of the time, I see the "Feels like..." temp around there for most parts of the south west. Besides, a little sweat is supposed to be good for you. :) 120 is damn hot, no matter what the humidity is, but 100 or so with 7% humidity sure feels better than 85 with 50% humidity. Like Old Bear said, it's like trying to breathe water.

That's damn hot. I guess you get use to it but it would take a while. I'd like to trade some -20 for some of your 70s in the winter though.

Above 110° I cover up and hydrate my clothing as well as my thirst on longer rides. Today's visit to the Chiro. was to short to worry about it. Our "hottest" ride last year was 117° according to my handlebar thermometer (no where near the record).

I have worked in temps well above 130° as a plumber in and around steam tunnels and boilers. The biggest danger is fear. The only way to overcome it is by preparation and practice.
