Handlebars
All, I was wondering if anyone has tried any other handle bars on their Nomads other than Apes, while at the Bike show in NYC recently, I absolutely loved the bars on the Victory Cross Country. I currently have an 01 Nomad 1500. My knees hit the grips in a turn. I am 6'5" and I pretty much have adapted everything on this bike to fit me. Thanx for any input.

Try risers or riser extensions.

My 1500 came with risers, but the stock bars weren't working for me. My local shop had a set of used bars from a Victory Boardwalk. I like them a lot.
Did not have to extend anything.

Chuckster 2" riser /spacers work good w/no cable change needed! I am 6ft3 and my knees hit the bars on a sharp turn before the spacers... You can also go to Harley style 4" pull back risers w/no cable change, You just need 1/2/ to 10mm (or what ever American thread 10mm is) stud adapter bolt,, Someone on site has a few! Also Nomad 1700 bars fit FYI

The Boardwalk bars turn the wrists outward, which is much more comfortable for me. In order to clear the speedometer housing at full stop, the bars are a little high, but I like that as well.
Just installed a MS batwing yesterday.

Handlebars
Got any close up pictures of your bike with the bars and the new fairing?

I installed risers and cut about 1 3/4 inch of the end of each bar on my 07. It required getting a set of aftermarket grips because of end piece securing method for the stockers. It made a significant difference in comfort and ergonomics.

If Don Myers (dmyers) is still making handlebars, you should contact him.
