This might seem over simplified, but just use soap and water....

Ok... so I'm assuming you're refering to somebody that put Armor All on the whole tire?? as opposed to just the side wall...??

Use Wesley's whitewall cleaner for the tire then finish it up with Armor All. You can get a yellow contoured sponge at Autozone to put the armorall on with. Jack up the bike first for ease of cleaning and applying the armorall

Well, he thought on the sides, so he says.....but went into a turn and leaned it over enough to get on the part with some armor all on it.

Me, I won't let it touch my bike tires.....or my bike for that matter..

Now on cars...I love the stuff. I just dont want it near my tires, grips, or seats.

That's my recommendation.

Please forgive the "dumbasss" comment if some of you use it....I mean dumbasss with all due respect.......afterall, I have been one on numerous occasions.

NO,NO,NO, Don't get Armorall any where near your tires ::)
Don't put it on your seat or your grips either. That is slippery stuff.

I have whitewalls and I use spray nine and a scrubrush, works good with a little elbow grease.

Man, I'm a crappy owner, I use Plexus to wipe it down occassionally, but that is it. I wouldn't even consider washing the tires. :-[

Duhhh, soap and water huh!!! Ya o.k. sure like that would work.I just thought when I mentioned armorall someone might suggest something that works as good without the danger.

I typically don't wash the tires, but if I do it is just with the leftover soapy water after doing the rest of the bike. Certainly agree with keeping Armorall or similar products far far way.

I wash the tires every other washing. I do use a tire shine product once and awhile......always have. I make sure I put it on a rag first then apply ONLY to the sidewall area that you cannot ride on. There has been times when I've slipped and got some near the tread area. Rode the bike a half mile and checked it and it was worn off.
my 2cents.
