COO named for KawaNOW....CPD change.

Several weeks ago when I was riding in the Big Bend region of Texas, I experienced an incident with a deer that I will never forget.

I was riding on a Texas Hill Country road about 55mph and a deer jumped out and ran parallel with me. Startled, I hit the accelerator hoping to coax the deer to run behind me instead of in front.

Instead of running behind me, the deer JUMPED over me! As it was in mid-air above me, one of it's hoofs slapped me on the helmet. I came away from the incident with no harm to me at all, just a couple of scars on the helmet. But it got me to thinking. What if that deer fell on top of me? What if it caused me to steer my Nomad and hit a tree?

One question I asked myself was, "If I became incapacitated, who would run and manage KawaNOW?" I know KawaNOW would go on without me, but would it continue operating as planned?

So, I decided that a person needed to be designed for KawaNOW to be second in command. After much thought and consideration, I have asked Jeff "Socwkbiker" Platz (SWB) to be the Chief Operating Officer of KawaNOW.....and he has accepted.

I chose Jeff because he and I have ridden together several times, I have met his lovely wife and he lives only 65 miles from me. But most of all, I have found that Jeff is a person that feels the same way I do about KawaNOW and its' future. I feel Jeff will be the perfect person to help guide KawaNOW into the future and do it with an understanding attitude following the mission set aside for KawaNOW.

Jeff's official title will be COO, and he will be listed as "moderator" for the forum. Jeff has been charged with taking total responsibility for KawaNOW in the event I become temporarily or permanently incapacitated. In my absence, he will have total control over KawaNOW. He and I will be working together as a team much like a President and Vice-President.

Please join me in congratulating Jeff in his new position.

So, now that Jeff is a COO for KawaNOW, it has been decided by the KawaNOW staff that Nico become the sole CPD for the USA...and he has accepted. So, please congratulate Nico in his new position of Chief Promotional Director for KawaNOW.

Thanks,
Trip

Congratulations to both of you for your promotions. Maybe the next step would be as running mates for the Presidency?

I want to congratulate both Jeff and Nico on their new responsibilities with KawaNow. I'd also like to thank you Trip for thinking about your site and the people who use it sometimes, and those of us who are addicted to visiting every day. I also had a brush with death having a deer hit me, and to have you consider others, some you don't even know, speaks volumes to just who you are and what type of person you are. Thanks Trip, stay safe. ;)

Congrats too SWB and Nico....

If Trip & SWB are sorta like The President and Vice-President.
I would suggest not going hunting with SWB.
