September Ride

If anyone is interested, my unit is doing a motorcycle ride to raise money for our Family Support Emergency Relief Fund. It will be $20 per bike or car. We are going to meet on the Natchez Trace in Jackson where we will collect the money and assemble for the ride. We will ride the Natchez Trace to Natchez then go across the river bridge to a place in Louisiana (Vidalia?) to eat and then come back. It will be on a Saturday later in September. I'll have to get the full details and post later. We have done rides like this the last two years and raised a lot of money that helps our troops that need it (house burned, flood victims, tornado damage etc).

Here's the details: The 172d Airlift Wing Family Relief fund is hosting our 3rd Annual Motorcycle ride on the 24th of September Saturday). We’ll meet at the Natchez Trace Craft center in Ridgeland, MS @ 0830 and the ride will start at 0900. The cost is $20 per bike or car and will be collected at the meeting place. All money will go to the Family Support Relief Fund which helps our unit members that have gone through a disaster of some type (flood, storm damage, fire, etc). We are opening this up to the public and not just military members. Also, you don’t have to ride a motorcycle. You can ride in your car or any other means of transportation. We will ride the Natchez Trace down to Natchez, MS, cross the river bridge and ride to Vadalia, La for lunch at a place called SandBar. You can ride part of the way or leave the ride at anytime. Join us if you can.

You guys don't forget about our units ride 24 September. It's all for good cause. If you can 't make it maybe we can have another southcentral (short) ride sometime in October. Is anyone going to the Bikes Blues & BBQ in Arkansas?

We will be there. We should have a lot of bikes. I don't have a clue how big that restaurant is. Never been on the other side of the river down there except to help Sonny work on his bike. Has anyone heard from him?
