Thoughts on TPS Adjustment

A few months ago I did the TPS mod on my bike, hoping to get a little more power out of it, but most of all, to be able to run regular gas. More power I got, at least a little, but not near enough to suit me. But I was chicken to try the 87 octane until this last weekend, when I was near outta gas and the station I pulled into was out of 89 and 93 oct.

Didn't go too well. Once that crap got into the motor, every time I gave it a little gas it would ping like crazy. Granted, it was in the upper 80's/low 90's that day, but this is Texas and that's coolish!

So, since my gas mileage seems to be suffering a bit, I think I'll drop it back down to stock (4.49 on mine) this weekend. I could only bump it up to 4.51 before, so it's not *much* of a change.

Time to think about a TFI I guess. Dammit...
