The economy and KawaNOW.....

There's a lot of talk going around about the economy. Some say it's the worst since 1982....others say it's going to get worse before it gets better and still others think the economy has bottomed out and is on the upswing.

Whatever the situation may be, the fact remains that there are some KawaNOW members that are having to sell their Nomads to make ends meet.

If you are one of them, our hearts go out to you and your family. Maybe someday soon, you can purchase another Nomad and ride with us. We understand what you're going through. In the meantime, just because you don't have a Nomad, doesn't mean you have to leave KawaNOW.

If you have had to sell your Nomad due to economic times, let me know and I'll change your status from member to enthusiast. You are welcome to stay as a part of KawaNOW as long as you like.

And hopefully the day will come when a Nomad will be sitting in your garage again.

Thanks,
Trip

nice of you to do that Trip. Fortunately it hasn't hit us to hard because both of us are working secure jobs but we're not getting any younger. So on that note we are going to enjoy ourselfs by riding while we physically can and also I'm going to help the economy because today I bought my wife a new 09 honda 750 shadow aero. SSSSHHHHH she doesn't know it yet. I be bringing it home next week.

By the way its the fastest color honda has.........yep it blue&silver

That's a nice thing to do, Trip! I'm also happy to see Fish is single-handedly trying to jumpstart our failing economy!

Very nice of you Trip. Hopefully things will begin getting better soon. Fish, we will hear those screams of joy all the way down here in the Deep South. Congratulations and ride safely.

Right on Trip! You don't throw your brother out of the family cause he gets a little short on cash. If that was the case I would have tossed my bro about 16 years ago. You guys are our family. Just cause you might have to sell your bike for awhile doesn't mean you ain't a biker anymore. I had to sell a bike a long time ago to pay for a DUI. It was a few years before I could convince the wife to let me get another one. Wish I would have had great friends like everyone hear during that time.

NObody leaves, nobody gets out, mmmmwwwwaaahhhhaaaahhhhhaaaa!!!!!! (comical evil laugh)

Yet again, this site amazes me.
So cool of you to do that Trip. Our Nomad is almost paid off and the wife and I vow ( at this time) to never sell. If we lost our jobs ect, that may change. But for now and the near future, we are keeping her.
I belong to 3 other web forums; this one smokes them all combined. As different as we are, there is no better group of people I have run across.
I am proud to be a member and I tell ALL nomad owners I meet about it. Even my local dealer looks at it and encourages Nomad buyers to check it out.

The economy and KawaNOW.....

I knew when I joined KawaNOW that this site was different. It seemed like the members really cared about not only theiir Nomad's but each other as well. Trip has reinforced what I see on KawaNOW all the time, that the members really do care and our founder and President is a stand up kind of guy. Good on Ya Trip.

To think that Trip is offering to pay off any KawaNOW members Nomad loan so they don't have to sell it is very generous of him!!! That's why I joined!!! ;D

The economy and KawaNOW.....

Just got word today from my wife....The company that she works for cut her job position after 12 years......It was a 50K/year job.....We are a little shell shocked and worried.
They will be giving her a 13 week severance package and paying out her PTO and this should hopefully give her time to get another job.....but I don't think it will be paying as good.....
She has been working at home as a Medical Transcriptionist Supervisor for 15 years.
It has been really great with her working at home while our 2 kids are growing ( now 13 and 15).
She would like to stay in the same field of work....but we will see.

The economy and KawaNOW.....

As the economy tanked last summer my company cut my weekly pay $200-300 a week. January 1st they cut my wages another 10% & took back our COLA allowance. March 1st they will move my job out of state to Reno Nevada. Things are tough all over, but at least the bike will be paid for in June.....Trip, only 4 payments left @ $165 each. Do you need Capitol One's billing info?

Ok, I know Trip somewhat and I know he is a good person. A very good person, but I have to ask. You are a member here and due to a crappy economy that is beyond your control, you have to sell your Nomad. Now your status here, is changed from member to something else. It would seem to me, to be supportive to a member in a time like this, their status would just stay member. i mean the reality is, at some time in the future, they will be in a Nomad again.

So, to be really supportive, it seems we would offer our loyality to them, but since they are a member, let them know we support them fully through this time, and as a member, you will remain one, no matter what. Ok, throw the rocks. But it just seems they get the short end of the stick for the crappy ass economy.
