First long ride and bike is awesome, seat is terrible!

Went today for my first long ride on the Vaquero and the bike is awesome! A taller windshield is a welcome treat, no wind noise and no wind blast peeling my glasses or helmet off. Now the seat is another story, seriously numb butt about 50-60 mile in. Now im not a small boy by any means at 6'4" 300lbs. but I wish I could get back a little further on the seat but I feel like I'm setting on the curved up rear edge. Any suggestions??

Russell day long seats are custom built to you.
I love mine.

Getting the seat modified is all I can suggest.

I feel your pain or used to. I upgraded to a Mustang and it didn't help much. I wish I had gone with a Russell. I am 6'5 and north of 300.

Half way to New York last June I had my brother overnight a Mustang saddle with backrest to his house. It is a huge improvement over the stock seat. I wouldn't have been able to ride home without that mustang saddle.

When I bought that used VTX 1800 in my sig it had a Mustang on it and I did not care for it at all. I ended up going with a Corbin and it worked out well. I'm thinking about trying one of them on the Vaquero and they are not too expensive either. The Russell would be nice but the cost and the down time while they build it is not good while starting the season.

I had the same problem, I'm a little shorter and lighter (6'2"/225) and had Russel build my seat. Had one done on my 08 Nomad also. See if you can find another stock seat on ebay and send it to Russel while you use the stock seat.

Seats are always a difficult thing to find the perfect fit. I suggest riding down the the rally this summer and check out all the different Vaqueros. I'd image there will be at least a couple seats from every manufacturer.

Wow, I feel small at 5'8" 170lbs :) It used to work in my favour in motocross and even now on my gsxr on the track.

You can go out and spend hundreds of dollars on a new seat or you can by yourself some "BUTTSHIELD". Buttshield will take your pain away and return that riding happiness to your life. "BUTTSHIELD" cannot be bought in stores, but if you hurry now, you can get "TWO" "BUTTSHIELDS" for the price of one. Just think back to those happy riding days with no pain and you will know that " BUTTSHIELD" is right for you.

I have a question for any Mustang seat owners. Does the Mustang seat set you back any farther from the bars, any height difference from stock? I have a chance to get one for cheap but I'm stuck with it if I don't like it. It's not close enough for me to get it and try it or that would be the answer.
