2008 vs 2009 Nomad

So, if the new Nomad and other 1700's all come with the 130/90 -16 front tires anyone here tried that on their 1500 or 1600's? Just wondering! I know the Venture guys are using skinnier front tires on the New Generation ones and claim they work better. I just don' remember hearing anyone using the 130's instead of the 150's? I wonder if that would get rid of the Head shake? I have had the stealer install new bearings / check the torque twice and check the rear bearings - shake is still there!

Just my opinion but...
A skinnier tire would increase the curvature angle of the tread face which may give you better response for cornering and perhaps more of a "side face" for hard cornering. However it would realistically decrease the contact patch that you would have going straight down the road.
Since most of us don't do racing style riding on our Nomads I cannot see the benefit other than the skinnier might be cheaper.

I loved the 21" 90 tire on my 900 Custom. It made that bike handle like a dream. Never a traction issue and I could carve some serious corners with it.

I put an Elite 3- 130/80/16 on my '01 last spring and I know it is a better riding bike than it was. I only got 10,000 miles on it and think it is going to go further then the Metzler 150.

No trouble with it fitting the rim that is designed for the 150?
