G'Day
I have just arrived in the USA after three years of riding through South East Asia (And 40 years riding in Australia). I look forward to seeing a large proportion of the US and aim to start on the Blue Ridge Parkway and environs this weekend.
I hope I can occasionally offer something worthwhile to these forums. I have purchased a 2006 Kwakka Nomad and after just 80 miles I made it a far better ride by removing the rear tire (off a motor car) and replacing it with a motorcycle tire. Now I am a happy little Vegemite. Best wishes to all and I hope to meet some of you out on the road. Dave. Login or Register to Remove Ads |

Sincere thanks for the friendly welcome. I am managing to keep to the 'wrong' side of the road, but sometimes it can be a challenge. I am loving the Nomad. It is the first time I have bought a second hand bike in a long time but, thanks to a previous owner it has few miles on the clock and is in almost new condition. I was motivated to buy it after owning a 1500 Vulcan which I bought in 1996, and after clocking up 55,000 miles on a Kawasaki Versys in Asia without any mechanical problems........Although there was a large animal 'event', which prompted a sudden stop against a tree which, in turn, required the repair of damage that couldn't be polished out.
But that's a story for another time; perhaps when I feel like becoming evangelical about the need for the wearing of quality protective gear. Again thanks for the welcome. The Smoky Mountains are beckoning.

Welcome from southern NC. Hope you enjoy the Blue Ridge. Be careful and watch out the leaf watchers.
