I'm gettin pretty damn sick of all this bitchin all the time.
You guys who don't like the sight are free to leave and see if you can find one that is better.
When you can't you will be welcomed back and have a voice imediatly, no waiting. Just don't use it to bitch.
For what it is worth, Mike and Trip, I think you guys are doing a great job.

I really don't see any ads when on the forum; beside a banner-ad. Sometimes I don't think I see any.

My question earlier is "why" there was a problem... I didn't really even notice the "yellow" link words in the original thread-post.

Seems to me that these links could have been helpful in some instances.

I am on another forum that has these. It doesn't seem to be a big deal.

Doesn't matter now...

I have no problem with any sight trying to make a buck. Let the entrepreneurial spirit live.

Most know there is a balance between enjoying the sight and how many distractions to keep the user happy. When they start losing users they face a decision of risk/reward.

It is the free trade system at work. Businesses and consumers all have choices and voices. I love it. Long live free enterprise!

I have never had a problem with ads. Sometimes I click on them to see what they have to offer.

No worries, I probably over-reacted a bit too, so I apologize if I did. I had a long day, and coming home to read all that was a little too much. I thought it would be a benefit, but I guess I was wrong. lol

Really? 2 ads per page is a lot? No pop-ups or any other type of 'annoying' ads. And they don't slow down the site at all. This is pretty much the norm on any site.

If you think this is bad, I can show you some forums that have around 5-6 ads per page, and each page takes 20 seconds to load.

If you don't like an ad, simply don't click it.

If these links to key words make income then I have no problem living with them, if they don't then I think it is better with out them.

Mike you are doing a great job and it is often a thank-less job I would imagine,
so thanks for all the hard work.

Perhaps Mike this is a good time if you could explain a little more about the ads and how they work. Is everyone seeing the same ads or are they tailored (or at least some of them) to individuals based on their surfing habits?

Reason I ask this is, I have had instances where I research a certain product and then see ads on here for sellers selling the same product. Yesterday I looked up Hooked on phonics and posted a link to it as a joke to a member and
have since seen the ad for the site a couple of times on here.
I'm not complaining, simply trying to understand how things work and what goes on behind the scenes. I think it would be useful if others knew how all this ad stuff works as well. Do we have active ad-bots or spy-bots that monitor our preferences or something?

I don't find it a problem at all, even the highlighted words didn't make a difference to me.

Like I said, I see the same thing on other forums. Doesn't bother me.
