ME880 with a 77h load rating

I am running me880 front and back. Looking at replacing my rear tire and I see there are 2 different 150/80/16's. One with a load rating of 71h and one with a 77h. Just wondering if anyone was running the heavier load rated tire or had any experience with it? I am 250 and do 60 % of my riding with my 120 lb wife on the back.

You might want to consider going to the Dark Side and save yourself about $150. Look it up. car tire on the MC. Don't worry about any load rating.

If you decide to go with MC tire I don't see a problem with either tire. The tires should be rated to carry a little over 400 pounds with no problem.

If one is a rear tire, thats probably why the load rating is different than the front tire.

ME880 with a 77h load rating

I checked the listing again and they show both the 71h and 77h as being rear tires, The only front is a 71h.

thanks for the input

Over at Dennis kirk, there is only a $7 difference in price, I'd go with the 77H.

BTW, the "H" is the speed rating.

ME880 with a 77h load rating

Metzler did that a couple of years ago. They brought out the same size with 2 load ratings. I got the larger load rating for my 800 Drifter and it is way too hard. Since I had two bikes that took the same size tire the Dealer assumed it was for the bigger bike. The damn thing won't wear out but is not as sticky as it should be - even after reducing air pressure to minimum. Next tire will not be the 77

I have the 77H rating and pretty much ride alone 99% of the time. It is a little hard but I've set the shocks on II and it's fine. I'm about 210. I replaced the stones with ME880 and believe they're just fine.
