How Small Is Too Small

Ok I got this from a different Kaw form but It's too good not to pass around.
What is the smallest caliber that you would trust to protect yourself ?
This is a story of self - control and marksmanship by a brave, cool-headed women with a small pistol against a fierce predator.
A Beretta .25 Jetfire testimonial. :
Here is her story in her own words:
" While out walking along the edge of a pond just out side of The Village with my ex- husband discussing property settlement and the other divorce issues, we were surprised by a huge 12-ft alligator which suddenly emerged from the murky waters and began charging us with it's large jaws wide open.
The alligator must have been protecting her nest because she was extremely aggressive.!
If I had not had my little Beretta Jetfire .25 caliber pistol with me, I would not be here today !
Just one quick shot to my ex-husbands knee cap was all it took. !
The gator got him easily and I was able to just walk away at a brisk pace.
It's one of my best pistols in my collection.!
All so, the amount I saved in lawyer's fees was HUGE !
So if you have to shoot make it count. !

Technically, you could protect yourself with a .22, but I am of the opinion that nothing less than 9mm should be considered adequate for self protection. I carry a 9mm or 40 S&W.

Never shoot a large caliber man with a small caliber bullet.
