August 8th-9th Vermont

I'll be riding up to Vermont on August 8th and returning on August 9th to fulfill my part of a bet that was made between the Montreal Canadien fans and myself.

BigRed and ctrider have both decided not to ride up to Vermont so I will be taking a different route getting up there.

I will be riding through Boston and up Route 93 to Lincoln, NH from there I will head west on Route 112 to Route 302. From Route 302 I will be taking either Route 2 or Route 89 depending on how much time it takes me to get up to that area up to Burlington. From there Colchester is a short distance away.

My check in time at Days Inn is anytime after 3:00 PM. The ride up should take somewhere around 6 or 7 hours depending how many stops I make.

I don't know my schedule for that weekend yet, but you will be about 4 miles from me when you reach the end of rt. 302. Maybe I can meet with you and ride with you for a while. My schedule changes frequently, but I would like to meet up with you and ride some.

Sadly the decision wasn't mine. I really hate when work dictates what I do and when. It doesn't happen often but when it does it is usually at the most inconvenient time.

Not a problem Martin. I was an IT person for a lot of years and know how it works. There were a lot of times that I got stuck doing upgrades on weekends that I had plans.

We are going to be at the Quality Inn in Colchester on the 8th. Maybe we can pick a spot and grab a bite to eat on the Sat. night? Should be a nice ride getting there. I love the Vermont area.

Rob it was a pleasure meeting you and your lovely wife. I couldn't get that Canadien jersey off fast enough.

Gerry. It was a pleasure meeting you also. Had a close call with a deer just after we split up.

Came back via Rt. 89 in to Concord. That Rt. 89 is tough to ride at 5:00 AM. No lights, fog, and clouds. I had to put my crash bar chaps on and a pair of gloves. It was on the cool side.

I was told by one of the guests at my motel that I could be shot for wearing that jersey. When I explained the bet she couldn't stop laughing. She then told me not to go in to any sports bars with the jersey on.
