Backrest Fitment On Voyagers Needs Modification

Just a note on the fitment of the Grasshopper Backrest on the Voyager

Here is a picture after I made the modification

I had to add a hose clamp on the lower backrest mounting bar so it would not allow the upper bar go in too far.
If you don't do this it will damage the rear seat over time.

As you can see from my pictures that if the upper bar is allowed to go all the way down in the lower bracket it will push into the rear seat. It is an easy fix for Grasshopper if they wanted to do it.

Grasshopper does not have good customer service as I sent an email with pictures about my concerns and never heard back from them.

A few days later they emailed me to request that I review the product so I did that and also sent the copy of my original email with the review and still heard nothing.

I'm very leery of the reviews on the Website as they never posted mine so I think they pick and choose what they want to show for the reviews.

I think that Grasshopper should change the design for the Voyagers as now with my modification the backrest is much more weaker and has much more spring to it than it should have.

Also if the rider is taller than myself it might be a problem because you are pushed forward but it works fine for me though since my inseam is only 30"

It's a black bike and you're more than welcome to the lowers (once the bike is gone). It will be a trade and cash with a dealer and I'm going to try and get over tomorrow to see the Voyager,. Been trying to get away, but it's been a hectic week.

Thanks

The voyager seat is completely different.
Any info on the bars? Can't find D Meyers on a web search
Thanks
