Welcome from West Central Florida. Get the POG issue addressed ASAP if it hasn't already been done. Mine went out in November, and I was bikeless for about 3 weeks.

You all have some awesome looking rides, Mine, the Grn on Grn. I was told by the PO that the work had never been performed. And that it still has the plastic oil gear.

I like the reference ticking time bomb. scares the hell out of me. I suppose they need to remove the engine to get @ this issue? or is it a reasonably simple fix. Love the bike, but it took all I had to get it. if it's big buck to repair, I might just put it back on Craigs.

Thx everyone for the heads up, you do look like a great group.!

Oh I'm from Saratoga Springs Ut

Welcome Rayk, and yes it is a timebomb. I bought a 99 a few years back and in less than a month it went on me. Was planning on doing the update over the winter which was less than a month away.

As far as replacement, Judge from VROC sells an aftermarket kit. What happens is you destroy the POG and replace with a steel gear. You don't have to take the motor out. If you do take the motor out, it is a pricey item unless the POG fails and then MaKaw takes the bill. However, from my experience, don't let that happen and replace it now.
