Hot Day Ride

Got out for a ride today - before it (supposedly) got too hot. It was hot anyway! Heat Index 104-107...Severe weather heat warnings for the area. Anyway while out riding we saw an auction so stopped for a while. Ken landed up buying a set of junior golf clubs for the 15 months old grandchild :-/. Anyway seeing the two bikes we were on can you guess who carried the clubs back? Hint....Nomads rule.

Hot Day Ride

I know what you mean about it being too hot. When the sun finally came out it must have gotten up to 80F. (sorry, couldn't help it) I did get caught in a downpour though, but passed through that before I got home and the bike dried out. Somebody down the hill had some golf stuff out for sale by the side of the road. I think you'd better get the grandson a toy motorcycle before too long. The past two days in a row I've had little boys just stand there admiring my bike while their mother/father smiled. The little boy today wanted to wait until I got on my bike and rode off before they went into the store.

Hot Day Ride

I know that most of southern and southeast MO. are under a Excessive heat advisory for awhile. I believe it carries over into Tenn. Its hard to ride with just hot air blowing into your face. When I came thru Dyersburg on July 22, it was raining really good. needless to say I felt like a duck.

I guess the dog days of summer are here!

We're forecast for a pair of hundred degree days today and tomorrow. I've fortunately been inside at work today, but Lucille is waiting out in the parking lot to take me home in another half hour. Radio just said heat index of 108. I hope her kickstand didnt sink into the asphalt.

I know that feeling. Sarah is 14 but I still carry her plastic club around in my bag. It makes for good conversation on occasion, but reminds me of her going with me to the range when she was about 5. Good Times!

Hot Day Ride

Yep, near 100 here in Nashville today, still have a heat index of 94 even though the sun is long down. It is sweltering. Supposed to gradually keep getting hotter until Tuesday, when the low is only going to be upper 70's low 80's. I rode after dark last night, and it was nice, but daytime is miserable.

Hot Day Ride

Went on a nice 200 mile ride today. We met at 6:00 at a nearby grocery store parking lot. The sun was barely up and it was already over 90 degrees. We were going to Tucson, but decided to forego that and stay in higher elevations where it would be cooler. We had breakfast at a mexican cafe about 30 miles away, then took a stretch of highway I'd never been on to Globe. Stopped in Globe for (what else?) a cold beer, then back home by 1:00PM. It was a great day for a ride.

I see the humidity there is like 21%. Here it's running in 70-80%. We put the bags back on the Nomad about 730 am this morning in the garage with the garage door open and side door open and both of us was dripping sweat. Had to take a rag and wipe the sweat drops off the bike.

Left for our ride around 8 am back home around 130 p.

Here in S. Tex., I live with that kind of heat daily. Guess that's the price we pay to get to ride all year long

Same here. I'm anxious for October to come around. Starts getting hot and humid here in late May.

Hot Day Ride

All the way to 83 yesterday. I guess I'm getting soft. When I lived in Houston, if it didn't hit 85, I was usually chilly. Now at 85 with 50% humidity, I'm beginning to think it's hot. Funny what you become accustomed too.

Cold sucks.
