GREAT MOOSE Vid

Very cute video...I watched it thinking "Thank goodness there weren't any little kids there...the mommy might of hurt them protecting her calves"
On the same page there is a vid of a mother moose shot after she attacked an 8 yr old...she had 2 calves...was wondering if it was the same ones....pretty sad

The calves in the video where the boy got trampled were only a 1 week old and looked smaller then the ones playing in the water. Thats How I see it. It isn't that bad radco.

Rich, do you see a lot of moose in your neck of the woods? Sure would hate to run into one on the bike or in a car.

Rich, thanks for sharing that video. It was really neat. I know what you mean about not wanting to hit a moose even with a truck. We have the occasional moose wander through ND, and about four years ago a guy hit a bull moose with his pickup north of town on the highway at about 5 in the morning. Luckily the guy survived with just scratches, but his truck was brought into town and I went and looked at it. It looked like someone had driven straight into a brick wall at 65 mph. I couldn't believe that the driver wasn't more seriously hurt or even killed.

My wife was really impressed by the video, because she loves all small furry animals. Of course moose just look small and furry on the web, and it sorta disguises the truth. She's never had to shoot, hoist, bleed, gut & dress one before. In 1972 I went moose hunting, and I've regretted it ever since. (And believe me it has nothing to do with any fondness for moose.)
