I've done the throttle thing with one or two kids I trust.

Dan, the sad part about my buddy's comeback is the girl was a total hottie. I would have just lied and said "it's a harley"

I, too, would have just not told her. If she didn't know any better, no sense ruining it for her...and me. ;)

I once had an old man at a motel ask to sit on my bike for a picture. The whole group was European and had heavy accents.

I helped him get up and sitting holding the bars, then helped him back down.

They thanked me profusely, then said something about wanting to show people back home the picture of him on a "Harley Davidson".

I let him enjoy the moment, but thought he was really going to be bummed if somebody back home points out that he was sitting on a Kawasaki :( He enjoyed it immensely in the moment nonetheless.

That's so sweet! I'm sure that made you feel all warm and fuzzy inside!!!

I've noticed the same as others....the young children and the senior citizens. I had a man stop and talk to me at a gas station for almost 30 minutes!!! He loved my "Harley" and told me how his son had one too....LOL

Our local riding group did a ride near Christmas and I wore my homemade knitted Santa helmet cover. I couldn't believe how many children would run over to talk to me. I had these two adorable young children run over with their dad. He asked if I would mind him taking a picture of me with his children. The children, one on each side of me, grabbed my hands and held them for the picture. Almost brought tears to my eyes!!!!

Here's my helmet Santa from that day:

OK, has he always had this problem with compulsive truth-telling?

A guy's gotta know when to keep his mouth shut and just go for the ride. ;)

Yeah, take her for the ride and as she's walking away tell her she really should learn the differences, so she isn't taken advantage of........................

I think the guy with the Honda did the right thing. Hey, us metric bikers don't have to swallow our pride just to have some gorgeous young thing ride on our bikes. After all we have our dignity and self-respect and no fender-fluff is going to take that away from us. (what the hell am I saying??? please don't vote me off the forum!!!)

On my cross-country camping trip this summer, it was the dad's with their son's that were interested in the bike as well as some seniors at rest stops. In Land of Lakes TN/KY the father and son even set-up my tent. The kids also get a kick out of the air horns. Buck
