I have to say....I am surprised and disappointed how many of our NW Region regulars are not going to be in attendance for the rally. They seem to be dropping like flies. I know there are a hundred things that can come up, or conflict with the timing of the rallies...or in Don and Charlie's case, vacation time that gets denied....

We do our best to pick great locations, and time the rallies so the weather has a chance to be decent. We do so nine or ten months in advance and pick mid-week dates to give people time to make the run there and back within the same week. A ton of work goes into planning the entire thing. Members have many legitimate reasons they can't make it and that's understandable...but I really don't get those who can, but won't make the effort...and I know you are out there.

I could say more...but I better stop before I start to sound like I'm whining. I'm more disappointed that members in our NW Region (which there are not a lot to begin with) either can't make it, or plain do not show more enthusiasm for the rallies. I'm pretty sure the Western Canadian Region will be well represented...and they don't have many members up there either!

I have been to four KawaNOW/VBA rallies now and had a blast at each and every one. I expect this one to be no different...even if only a handful of NW members show up. I will also be attending the VBA SW Regional Rally in late May....and looking forward to that too.

Your Nomad/Voyager/Vaquero is made for hitting the open road and seeing new country and terrain. Don't be afraid to head off into the sunrise for parts unknown to attend a rally or two...you just might discover how much fun you had in the process....

I know there are many of you guys who would dearly love to be there...and we will miss each and every one of you dearly. Hopefully, we'll get some new members off the fence and coming to help us celebrate in your absence...making new friends and sharing some good times....

Brought to you by your whining NW Region Leader....and I approve this message...

(consider the source) I'm one step closer to attending as of today. Not ready to make reservations, but it's looking good so far.

BTW, Canada is a bit sticky on "guys like me" entering their country. If the rally was just this side of the line I would be a definite YES on attendance.

Kris...who peed in your Wheaties?

I suspect there are several that just can't commit until closer to the dates. We are still 5 mos. away.

I am planning on bringing at least one buddy and maybe 3. Should know in a couple weeks. booked two rooms.

I know their is a lot of prep work and organization work that goes into these rally's. They are fun. Nothing like kickin back around the campfire with a bunch of fellow VBA members. I hope we get a bunch of late commers.

To the guys/gals riding the fence... It takes time to get there and time to ride back so if members can only make a couple days that is fine. Some have family, work, and financial constraints. But any time you can make is great. Good riding, meet your fellow members, see some new places.

We don't all have cushy government jobs like the crazy Norwegian with endless paid time off, so do what you can and bring a friend or two.

This advertisement was paid by the Super Pac endorsing Kris Olson for Director of Tourism.

I got my passport card today so I'm still in. It should be some really nice scenic ride.

I've been through Coeur D Alene, ID, and once across Idaho on Hwy 12 on my old bike, all really scenic country so I'm really looking forward to heading north on Hwy 95 from there!

Hey, themoonpie (Don) ... keep working on them, I hope you can make it after all.

James

Rooms are going quick. As far as I can tell 7 are now taken. I just tagged my king room on the river.

Get yours while you can.
