Scala makes several sets without wires. I did have a wired set but it was a pain to hook up and remove.

This is what we want as well. Just a intercom for rider & passenger; not the whole cb-phone-ipod thing. This ma be a good thread for me to watch.

I have the basic chatterbox system. Mounts on my helmet and the wife plugs in. Also works with the Ipod when I'm commuting. Works just fine. My biggest problem is the speakers mounted in the helmet with my big fat head. My wife hasn't complained about hers so it might just be me.

I have a chatterbox also. Works good, but I am looking at upgrading to the scala. Scala has a couple of different setups and both are wireless.

They also have the Q2 which can allow you to connect to another bike if they have the same setup.

The Q2 is what I am looking at.

My first intercom was an IMC brand that I bought from Sierra-MC. It worked very well. I had the the MIT-30 unit. It would allow connection to a MP3 player and cell phone, but I never really used the MP3 connection and never tried the cell phone connection.

The speakers are very thin so they do not take up much room in the helmet. You can order for various helmet styles. I got the modular kit then also ordered a separate one for my half helmet. Used it until I installed the J&M CB2003 so I had the CB for group rides. Still have it in a box in the garage.
