What do you clean your jugs with???
Is there anything besides good ol' soap & water to clean the jugs and give them that showroom blackness again? Not that mine have faded, but think of this as preventive maintenance...
(ok, I'm anal retentive about detailing the bike, but there's worse things. I think. I hope.) I have Bike Brite and SC-1 spray-on touch up for the bike. Not sure either/both are ok to use on the jugs though and don't want to find out the hard way. Thanks for any insight... Daryl ??? Login or Register to Remove Ads |

What do you clean your jugs with???
Hey Daryl,
It will be interesting to read the responses here. Personally I would rather ride the bike than sit around detailing it. It gets sprayed off at the car wash, low pressure of course, and then dried with a blue towel. If I don't clean it for a couple of weeks and it looks dirty to me others comment on how great it looks. It's all relative. Good luck finding an answer.

Mine have not faded that I can tell. I use hot soapy water applied with a sponge, then rinse with a hose.

http://www.s100.com/s100_eb.htm S100 Engine Brightener: Got a bike with a black engine that just isn’t so black anymore? Bikers like you told us they needed special help in this area and we listened! Our S100 Engine Brightener can take a tired, greyed-out engine and make it look almost factory-new again! Just clean the engine and dry, then spray on our temperature stable S100 Engine Brightener. Use the handy misting spray nozzle (an industry exclusive) to get into the cooling fins and crannies without over-applying. That factory black look comes back and lasts for miles and miles and holds up to a bunch of washes, too. Friends will think you replaced the engine! I've used this product for 9 years. It works wonders! Any black that looks a little faded and gray will turn shinny black, and as it says, it stays that way for a while. One small can of it last for years. I've found it in larger bike dealers, so you can just buy it over the counter. |

Ok, the S-100 looks like a good thing but how does it effect some of the black plastic covers on different areas of the motor?
