ICE Card reminder

Just as a friendly reminder... be sure to carry an ICE Card with you when riding.

For those that don't know what an ICE Card is... it is simply a card that provides information needed "IN CASE of an EMERGENCY".

You should include:
  • Doctor's name and number[/*:m:zj4f47s7]
  • Blood type[/*:m:zj4f47s7]
  • Specific medical conditions needing to be considered[/*:m:zj4f47s7]
  • Allergies to specific medicines or treatments[/*:m:zj4f47s7]
  • The person's name and phone number you would prefer to be called first[/*:m:zj4f47s7]
  • Then add additional people's names and information needed to be called to assist in making important decisions[/*:m:zj4f47s7]
In addition; if you have a cell phone -- include an entry on your phone list called ICE. Authorities know to look for this number and will dial that person if needed.

For those more "tech-savvy"; there is also a function on most all cell phones that allows for tracking -- much like a GPS. This can help authorities to track where your phone is -- which hopefully will be somewhere near you in an emergency -- as if in the circumstance you are incapacitated and cannot move and have been discovered to be missing.

Hope this helps someone.

Greg

ICE Card reminder

Good reminder Greg. I first did the ICE thing on my cell phone over ten years ago, and have all pertinent info in my wallet and saddlebag pouch.

ICE Card reminder

Mines in the left saddle bag. Good reminder. For those newer members there's a form you can print and fill out on this site. Not sure where it is, but someone will chime in with the location.
I laminated mine to keep it dry and from getting torn up.

I kept mine in from the Western Rally, then updated it for the Custer Rally and left it in there. +1 on Laminating.

Thanks for the great information. I just printed mine. Will complete and store in left saddle bag with insurance documents before I ride again.

ICE Card reminder

Over on the MTF board on Delphi, they will actually make you an ICE card on a lanyard if you want it. Kinda cool. I know a lot of guys from over there that wear it all the time. Same info that Greg is talking about.

I think you have to have a minimum of 50 or 100 posts to be able to get one though.

I also have my ICE info in my left hand side saddlebag. I also have the my home number and my wife's cell phone tagged as ICE numbers.
Something else out there that's kind'a cool are the digital ICE tags, and cards.... You can have all your info and a picture on them. I might have a digital "dog tag" done to throw on when I go for a ride.
You can see them here.... http://www.flyncycle.com/U_tag_s/57.htm
Just another idea for your Christmas "wish list".
