Rickyboy-Oyster Rally

Ricky - I spoke to Kris and he emailed you. Just wondering what your plan is? Will Sunday 9am at Bob's (see below) work? If not what will? Anyone else??

Oh I am still hoping to go up in the area at that time. But I won't be able to make a decision until a few days prior. Too many work things happening right now.

I would like to take a scenic route up (coast? hwy 20?) because I-5 is so crowded and boring. I would stay in Bellingham at my daughter's place on Saturday night. Maybe we can all meet for a meal outside of Anacortes on your way in to town? Bob's right off 1-5 (exit #232...see link) in Burlington has a decent Sunday brunch. Maybe meeting there early on Sunday the 27th before you head into Anacortes?

We can wait until a few days prior to see who is going, take a peak at the weather, and figure it out then. Since you are going into the actual Rally area plan what works best for you and the rest of us can work around it...if a meet or meal can work out that would be great but if not we will just wait until next time. Hope we get a chance to shake hands!

We'll be in Anacortes for the week-end. Staying with friends. We will check out the venders and try to count the bikes for a couple hours around noon, a little after. Weather permiting we will do a ride down the island in the afternoon and catch the ferry back to the real world late in the day. Last year we nearly got stuck in town just trying to get on the Hwy........ it was a real parade.

A group of friends and myself are starting sunday morning at the Lynnwood HD/Cyclebarn
for a pancake breakfast. After we're heading to the Mukiteo-Clinton Ferry though Whidbey Is.
to Anacortes to the Oyster run. A fun ride and ferry ride that will not be forgotten. The more
the marrier.

I'd like to take a day ride to Anacortes Sunday, no solid plans yet, will monitor this thread.

BTW, the link above points to Tapoco, NC 28771-6887.

Cheers,

Selfishly...I think we have been making more plans by private email than on here. Rickyboy is planning to come down to Everett (my place) on Saturday, then we are joining a group for a trip on the Mukilteo ferry up Whidbey Island to Anacortes. The ferry is mere minutes from my house.

I'm sure I could make room for one more at my place if you wanted to come down and join us! The route up Whidbey is a great one. You get the rush of 100-300 bikes on the ferry....then a large group ride up the island. It's very impressive! Let me know or PM me if you'd like more details.... !

I understand there's already a sign stating that the bikers will come first on sunday. Remember motorcycles go to the front of the line on the ferry. Hope to meet and see
you all.

Can anyone here tell me if HWY 3 from Shelton to the Kingston Ferry is a decent ride?

I have already done HWY 101 to Port Townsend...thought I would try something new and cut off a few miles at the same time but would rather have a longer ride on HWY 101 if HWY 3 is no good.

Hope to see all of you this weekend...ride safe!

Ricky and Kris,

Thanks for offering company and guest-room, really appreciate it. We must be home Saturday therefore no over-night stay this weekend. But we sure wanna take a spontaneous ride down to Anacortes on Sunday.

I see the group is building up, will monitor the conversations on here and hope we'll cross paths. Thanks again.

Ride with the wind and due care, see you down the road.

E.

Elvis....go early in the day as it will be a madhouse... ! Look for us....we will be the ones in black leather... ;)!

Greg,
I emailed you too. Hwy 3 is a nice ride but turns into a freeway from Bremerton to Paulsbo. Ridden it many times! It definitely is the quickest way though....
