Ipod connector issue

anyone ever have a Ipod connector that has had a short in the wiring. are the repairable or is it trash at this point, the foam cushion it sits it sucks as its hard to get the Ipod out and when you cram it in the pocket it puts the wiring in a bind hense my shortage problem.
I thought maybe somebody has come up with an alternative radio shack type of idea!

Not alot of play in the foam cushion...most people leave it in 99% Of the time

I take it out just because I listen to it in my shop also.
I wish there was a longer connection and a better design than the pocket

Make sure that the short is not in the iPod. I had my iPod start to short out if the wire was moved and I plugged another one in and it works great now.

I had an ebay connector that did this. Lucky the guy let me send it back and I bought the KAWA one. No issues now

I occasionally have issues with my I-Pod connector - If you have the 30-Pin to lightning adapter on it, I wrapped those connections with electrical tape so they don't wiggle loose. I have the one with an 8" (I believe) lead which gives me the needed cord length to play with when I connect/disconnect my phone. I do not use the foamy thing - instead, I put industrial Velcro on the rectangular unit and some on the top of the glove box and secured the unit to the top of the glove box. All the wires then stay down in the back of the box and I just connect the phone and close the door and ride . . .

Growing up KISS meant "Rock and Roll all Night and Party Every Day!"

As I aged it changed to your definition . . . Though I still like the KISS of my youth!
