My wife is with you! I think I will postpone drilling holes in anything just yet.

By FAR the nicest bike I have ever had. Lots of nice folks here too - thanks for the nice welcome.

Welcome to the forum. If you ever have any questions about your bike, the people on here are top notch and can answer about anything! (some answers come with their own comic relief).

I second that but this is just my personal taste.
I know there are a bunch of folks that are very happy with V&H baggers sound but on my 2005 Nomad I could not stand to it after 50mph. It was too loud causing a ringing sound in my ears.

I debafflled the stock pipes on my 2008 and I am very happy with the result!
Sounds mellow with a nice rumble without being loud and the cost of the mod was like $20 against $500.

I like the look, just like mine when I got it.

BTW: What's up the the passenger seat? It looks like it's not bolted down or was move to create more of a back rest.

I've had a 1500 and 1600. Started with stock, drilled out 1 set didn't care for the sound. Bought tapered cobra's. Didn't like that sound. Went to V/H straight out of the box. Love the sound but thinks Cobra probably has a better product and maybe not quite so load. I learned this through experience not all stock pipes are the same. Some are very difficult to remove the baffles. I ruined two sets and went back to V/H's. My advice keep your stock, pick up a set of used V/H's or Cobra on Ebay. If you dont like em you can always go back to stock. Be safe.

That is some sort of aftermarket seat that the PO had on the bike. It actually is supposed to act like a backrest, but they made it like 2-3" forward of the back of the driver seat. Put the stock one back on and will be selling or trading the aftermarket one soon. It would probably work well for someone under 6ft.

Hey - I have another question. (I am aware of the search feature, but this is height specific).

I am 6'3". Would like to make the handlebars more comfortable. Can anyone of a similar height recommend some good (and hopefully not real expensive) risers? I am not sure how tall I should go, and if I should get pullbacks or not.

Thanks

Test road a Pacific Coast at a GWRRA rally and for a 800cc thought it was pretty peppy.

Welcome to the forum

I put some 11" dresser apes bars on my bike and am very happy with them. Here's a link to the write up. http://www.utahmotorcyclist.org/2012...600-nomad.html
