Great Pictures!

I haven't been in the western U.S. in a long time.
It's beautiful country.
Next vacation, that's the direction were going.

Great pis Kris! Sure wish I could have joined everyone. It's not even that far from me, but alas...work and my travel schedule is extremely uncooperative as of late. Hope all continue to have a great time, and tip a shot for me.

Nice pics Kris. Hope you're having a good time.
Tell Brad that is one sweet ride he's sitting on. Suits him to a "T"

Today was all about Zion National Park. It is not far from Kanab, so as a group we initially rode through and out the other side over to Hurricane, UT for lunch at an over-priced Bistro. It was good, but it was apparent they haven't been doing it very long...JMHO.

From there, I think everyone did their own thing. I took off solo again to ride back through the park, this time taking time to get some great photos. You have to take a series of shuttle buses to go up Zion Canyon, but that is essentially where the majority of he park is...and it is SPECTACULAR! If you are a hiker, you could die happy in this place...I have no delusions that my pictures will serve any kind of justice to the majesty that is Zion Canyon.

Much like Yosemite, the North Fork Virgin River runs down the canyon and provides a Garden of Eden-esque appearance. The towering rock cliffs that surround you on both sides are simply breathtaking. I could have spent all day up that canyon.

There are about 5 stops along the way and buses run every ten minutes or so...easy on, easy off. If you miss the Canyon, you essentially miss the Park. I just wish the buses were more viewer friendly, but that's why you get out!

Here are some pics of the day...enjoy!

Hi Kris, thanks for the photos and the daily reports, very nice indeed.

What I also like is that you're riding solo in the latter part of the day which tells me that there's no "social" pressure to ride in a pack all the time or you just don't care....

Anyways, what's next? Bryce Canyon maybe?

Cheers,

E.

E,
There is never any pressure at any VBA rally to do anything...it is totally up to you what you wish to do, but yes...doing the afternoons solo has really allowed me to get the pics I want to get and experience the places we are visiting on a more personal level. For sure, Bryce Canyon is on the list for tomorrow's ride! Glad you are enjoying the "ride" with me!

Sorry everyone....been a very long day, so my post is gonna be short. Bryce Canyon is very cool to say he least. We spent a lot of time there but even at that had to kind of rush out of there to get heading back north toward home. Check out some of the pics and you can get a little feel for how big and cool the canyon is. The road to the last viewpoint is 20 miles long and I rode it all the way and back out, checking out all the other viewpoints as well. These are just some of the pics....enjoy!
