That is looking GREAT!! The way you have it matching the shape of the saddle bags looks like it will be a real winner. Not sure what kind of future plans you have but with all the Nomad owners out there I bet you could go full time making these. Painted to match a bike they should be in HUGE demand if you were so lead to offer them. Really looking forward to seeing the final product.

This project has ben put on hold for a bit. It's been too damn cold to have to heat the garage for any projects plus I had to have shoulder surgery to have a torn roto cuff repaired. I'll post progress as I make any. I'm almost ready for paint .

That is one fine piece of work. You definitely have an abundance of patience and skill. Let me know how your shoulder is progressing. My right shoulder rotater cuff has been torn for 24 years and I'm afraid to follow my doctors advise on having it repaired. I've learned to live with the pain and don't want more than what I already have.

I fabricated my own rack and used the 84 Yamaha Trunk with the original attaching )chrome) frame on the bottom with makes it removable and lockable to the rack. But one I really liked, I saw on a Nomad in passing.... the guy made his rack so it would swivel forward when riding solo (served as a driver backrest/trunk), or swiveled back when riding two-up.

Looking good! Everyone has their own idea of what trunk looks best on a Nomad. I'd say your home brew trunk will take the prize. Good luck getting the sore wing healed up. My right one is torn a bit, I'm just chicken to have it fixed.

This is the second time I have had the same shoulder repaired. The first time was in Sept of 08. I would do it again if it needed to be done. Just keep in mind, It takes several months of rehab to get back in shape after surgery.

I'm hoping to be able to do my final prep work this weekend and get it painted soon.

I've not weighed it, but as a guess it probably weighs under 10lbs
